SEO is a long-term game, and you need platforms that can help you keep on top of it. But if you just want to rank for "Karate School" or "Pizza"+ "Town-name-here" you don't need to worry about the ceiling of the CMS. sure get off wix, godaddy, mopro and the crappy self hosted stuff. If you decide you want to be a national brand and you need markup, and fastest load times, and are moving to a VPS from a share server. ![]() But if you're doing local marketing then social signals, profiles like GMB and FB and YT (and their reviews), on-page SEO, and the site content are the biggest factors. For MOST people the platform doesn't much matter for SEO which is why the WIX types offer just enough to avoid being an SEO problem.
